Services

Six things we do, each with a price.

All six

01

Rats and mice

Scratching in the loft, droppings behind the cooker, a rat on the patio at dusk: three visits over three weeks with tamper-resistant bait stations, the way in found and photographed, proofing advice or the proofing done, and a 28-day return free. The commonest call we get, and the one we are best at.

Rats £165 and mice £140 for three visits, including the bait stations, the report and a 28-day return.

02

Wasps, and bees relocated

A wasp nest in the eaves, the shed or a hole in the lawn treated the same day for £65, the nest dead within a few hours. Honey bees are a different animal: a swarm is collected by a beekeeper and rehomed in the Vale at no charge, and bumble bees are left to finish their season. We tell you which you have before we do anything.

A wasp nest £65, a second nest on the same visit £25, any height we can reach from a ladder; a nest needing a tower or a cherry picker quoted.

03

Bed bugs

Itchy bites in a line in the morning, tiny dark spots on the mattress seams, a sweet musty smell: a heat-and-spray treatment of the room, the bed, the furniture and the skirting, repeated three weeks later to catch the ones that hatched, with a preparation sheet that matters as much as the treatment. Discreet, unmarked van on request.

£180 a room for two treatments three weeks apart, the inspection, the preparation sheet and the report included; each further room on the same job £95.

04

Ants, cockroaches and fleas

A trail of ants across the worktop, a cockroach under the fridge at midnight, flea bites round the ankles after the cat came home: gel baits for ants and cockroaches that the insects carry back to the nest, a whole-house flea spray with a growth regulator that stops the next generation, and a return free within 28 days.

Ants £85 for one visit and a return within 28 days if needed; fleas £120 for the whole house; cockroaches £220 for three visits with sticky monitors.

05

Bird proofing

Pigeons on the shop sign, gulls on the flat roof, starlings in the eaves and pigeons nesting under the solar panels: spikes, netting, wire and mesh that keep birds off without harming them, fitted from a ladder or a cherry picker, with the mess cleared and the area sanitised first. Gulls nesting in season are a licence matter and we handle it.

Stainless spikes from £28 a metre fitted, netting from £18 a square metre fitted, solar panel mesh round an array from £340, fouling cleared and sanitised from £95.

06

Commercial contracts

Restaurants, takeaways, pubs, shops, offices, schools and letting agents across east Cardiff: eight routine visits a year, monitoring stations inside and out, call-outs between visits included, and a logbook and a site plan that your food hygiene inspector will ask to see. A contract from £48 a month, and no long tie-in.

From £48 a month for a small café or shop: eight routine visits a year, call-outs included, the logbook and the site plan.

How we work

Four things that are true of every call.

A technician answers, any hour

The 24-hour line rings on the phone of whichever of us is on call that night, not a call centre. We ask what you have seen and where, tell you the price, and come within ninety minutes across east Cardiff, or book the morning if that is cheaper and safe.

The whole job, one price

Rats are £165 for three visits; a wasp nest is £65 whatever the height we can reach from a ladder; bed bugs are £180 a room for two treatments. No per-visit add-ons, no bait charged by the box, and the call-out comes off the job if you book it.

Safe around children, pets and food

Tamper-resistant bait stations, gel baits instead of sprays wherever they work, and the safety data sheet for every product left with you. Food premises get the treatment their food hygiene inspector expects to see, written down.

We fix the reason, not just the pest

Mice come in through a gap the width of a pencil; rats come up a broken drain. We find the way in, show you on the report, and proof it if you want us to, because a pest that cannot get in is cheaper than a pest that keeps coming back.

24 hours

What happens when you ring at two in the morning.

The line rings on the phone of whichever technician is on call. We ask what you saw and where, tell you the price, which right now is £130, and decide with you whether it needs us tonight or at eight tomorrow: a rat in the bedroom does, a mouse in the kitchen usually does not, and we will say so. If it does, we are with you inside ninety minutes across east Cardiff, with a text giving the name of who is coming.

  • Day rate £85 from 8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday
  • Night rate £130 from 8pm to 8am, Sundays and bank holidays
  • The call-out comes off the job if you book the full treatment

Bees

Wasps we treat. Bees we rehome, free.

A cluster of bees hanging off the hedge in May is a honey bee swarm looking for a home, and it is the gentlest thing in the garden. Nia keeps bees; she collects swarms into a box in the evening and they go to an apiary near Peterston. Bumble bees nesting in the lawn are left to finish their summer. Send a photograph to 07700 900 670 and we will tell you which you have in minutes.

Mice

Mice behind the cooker in a terrace. Marc found the gap where the gas pipe goes through the wall, filled it with steel wool and mortar on the first visit, and by the third visit the bait was untouched. £140 and the report for my landlord. Nothing since.

Rats, night call

Rang at eleven at night about a rat in the kitchen. A person answered, said £130 for the night call-out, was here by twenty to one, and found it had come up a cracked drain under the decking. Drain contractor booked for the morning. That is how it should work.

Bee swarm

I rang about wasps and it was honey bees, a swarm on the hedge. Nia came that evening in a bee suit, brushed them into a box and took them to an apiary. Didn't charge a penny. I had been about to buy a can of spray.

Directions, areas and hours

Questions people ask before they ring

What does a call-out cost?

£85 between 8am and 8pm Monday to Saturday and £130 at night, on Sundays and bank holidays. That covers the survey, the first treatment and the written report, and it comes off the full job price if you book it. Every pest has its own fixed price on the prices page and on the identifier.

How quickly can you come?

By day, usually the same day across east Cardiff, in a two-hour slot with a text when we are on the way. At night, within ninety minutes for rats in the house, wasps where someone is at risk, and bed bugs in a hotel. A mouse at midnight is usually cheaper to book for 8am, and we will say so.

Are your treatments safe for children and pets?

We use tamper-resistant bait stations fixed in place, gel baits rather than sprays wherever they work, and we tell you how long to keep everyone out of a treated room, which is two hours for a flea spray and an hour after a wasp treatment. The safety data sheet for every product is left with you.

Do you kill bees?

No. Honey bee swarms are collected by Nia, who keeps bees, and rehomed at an apiary in the Vale at no charge. Bumble bees are left alone and we explain why. Wasps we treat, after we have shown you that they are wasps.

What if the pest comes back?

If it comes back within 28 days of the last visit, so do we, free, as many times as it takes. After that it is a new job, but if it is the same way in that we proofed, we fix the proofing at no charge.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes: letting agents in Roath and Cathays, about ninety food businesses on contract, two schools and a care home. Every job has a written report that a tenant dispute, an insurer or a food safety officer can read.

Seen something? Ring. Anything else, book a slot.

The 24-hour line is answered by a technician, and the call-out is a fixed price before anyone leaves. For anything that can wait for the morning, the booking form takes two minutes and we reply within the hour in working hours with a two-hour slot. Not sure what it is? The identifier will tell you, and what it costs.
