From £48 a month: eight routine visits a year, call-outs between them included, the logbook kept for your inspector
Commercial contracts
Restaurants, takeaways, pubs, shops, offices, schools and letting agents across east Cardiff: eight routine visits a year, monitoring stations inside and out, call-outs between visits included, and a logbook and a site plan that your food hygiene inspector will ask to see. A contract from £48 a month, and no long tie-in.

A food business in Cardiff will be asked by the council's food safety officer to show it has pest control in place, and the evidence is a logbook: a site plan with every monitoring point, a record of every visit, what was found and what was done. Without it a single mouse dropping becomes a hygiene score of two. With it, and a technician who comes eight times a year, the inspector looks at the book, nods, and moves on.
A contract starts with a survey: the kitchen, the stores, the bins and the outside, every gap where a pipe goes through a wall and every door that does not close tight. We fit monitoring stations, insect monitors and an electric fly killer if you need one, draw the plan, and start the routine visits. Between visits, a sighting is a call-out at no charge, usually within the day and at night if it is urgent. The logbook lives on site, with a copy in your inbox after every visit.
We work for about ninety businesses along City Road, Albany Road, Wellfield Road, Newport Road and the Splott and Pengam estates: takeaways, restaurants, bakeries, two schools, a care home and a dozen letting agents with flats in Roath and Cathays. If you inherit a low score from a bad inspection, we come the same day, write the action plan, and stand next to you at the re-inspection if you ask.

Questions about commercial
How long is the contract?
Twelve months, because the first year is what shows an inspector you are in control; after that it rolls monthly with a month's notice either side.
Can you come outside opening hours?
Yes, and most kitchens prefer it. Routine visits go at a time that suits you, and call-outs come at any hour.
Seen something? Ring. Anything else, book a slot.
The 24-hour line is answered by a technician, and the call-out is a fixed price before anyone leaves. For anything that can wait for the morning, the booking form takes two minutes and we reply within the hour in working hours with a two-hour slot. Not sure what it is? The identifier will tell you, and what it costs.
