What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.
What we collect
When you use the booking form we collect your name, mobile number, email address and postcode, a date if you give one, the pest and how soon, and anything you write. The form also records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions. The identifier and the prices page collect nothing: both are worked out from the address bar and the server clock on each request and nothing is stored.
When we visit, the job report holds the address, what we found, the photographs, the products used and where, and the follow-up dates; the product record is required by the rodenticide stewardship scheme. For a commercial contract we keep the site plan and the logbook, which belong to the business and stay on site. The 24-hour line records the number that rang and the time, as any mobile does.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and book the visit (our legitimate interest in replying to you).
- To perform the contract: the treatment, the follow-ups, the report and the invoice.
- To keep accounting records and the product-use record (legal and stewardship obligations).
- To ask for a review a week after the job, which you can decline by replying.
Who sees it
The technicians on your job; a landlord, letting agent, insurer or food safety officer only if you ask us to send them the report; our accountant; and the independent review platform if you agree to be asked. We do not sell or share your details for marketing, and we do not use tracking cookies or analytics scripts on this website. The map on the office page is served by Google and is subject to their privacy policy; the fonts are served by Google Fonts.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become a job are deleted after twelve months. Job reports, photographs and invoices are kept for six years for tax, insurance and stewardship purposes. Call logs on the 24-hour phone are deleted after ninety days.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we have no legal reason to keep it, and object to our using it for marketing. Email help@eastcardiffpestcontrol.co.uk or write to the office; we answer within a month. If you are not happy with the answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner\'s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
The booking form sets one session cookie so that it can stop the same person sending two requests within thirty seconds. It expires when you close the browser and carries nothing about you. Nothing else on the site sets a cookie.
