The engineers

Two engineers, one van each.

Dai and Ffion between them have fixed most of the washing machines between Dowlais and Treharris. Both are DBS checked and carry ID.

The people

Dai Morgan, an engineer in his forties with short greying hair and a navy polo shirt, in a home kitchen beside a washing machine

Owner and engineer

Dai Morgan

Dai served his time with a manufacturer's service team covering the valleys before going on his own in 2012 from a back room on Victoria Street. He has repaired machines in most kitchens between Dowlais and Treharris, still answers the phone himself before eight in the morning, and talks more people out of a call-out than into one.

Engineer

Ffion Price

Ffion trained as an electrician at the college in Merthyr, joined in 2020 and took over most of the oven, hob and fridge work, because she likes a fault you have to find with a meter. She carries the spare elements, fans and thermostats and is usually the one who gets a cold fridge going the same day.

How we work

Four things that always happen.

Check it first on the phone

Ring and describe the fault. Half the time it is a blocked filter or a door that is not quite shut, and we talk you through it for nothing.

The price before the screwdriver

After the diagnosis you get a fixed price for the repair, with the call-out included. You decide, and if it is no, you only pay the call-out.

Most makes, most ages

Bosch, Hotpoint, Beko, Indesit, Samsung, LG, Zanussi, AEG and the rest, including the ones a manufacturer no longer supports.

Repair before landfill

A new pump keeps a ten-year-old washer out of the skip for years. When a machine is finished, we take it to be recycled properly.

Book a repair, or ask first.

Ring and describe the fault: if it is something you can fix yourself, we will talk you through it for nothing. If not, the call-out is £59 and it is included in the fixed repair price when you go ahead.
