Not heating, not turning, stopping early or squealing
Tumble dryer repairs
Condenser, heat pump and vented dryers: heating elements, thermal fuses, drive belts, jockey wheels and blocked condensers, with the lint cleared out while we are in there.

A dryer that takes three cycles to dry a load is usually not broken: it is blocked. A dryer that has stopped heating or turning usually needs one cheap part. Both are worth a visit.
Condenser dryers need the lint filter cleaned after every load and the condenser rinsed every month; most "not drying" calls are a condenser packed with fluff. Heat pump dryers have a second filter that people do not know about. We clean everything, check the airflow and the sensors, and show you where the filters are. If a dryer has stopped heating, it is usually the element or a thermal fuse that has blown because the airflow was blocked, so we fix the cause as well as the part.
A dryer that turns on but the drum does not move has a snapped belt, and a dryer that squeals has a worn jockey wheel or drum bearing. Both are an hour's work. Vented dryers get the hose and the wall vent checked: a crushed hose behind the machine is a fire risk and the cause of most slow drying.

Questions about tumble dryers
My dryer takes ages. Is it broken?
Probably blocked. Clean the lint filter, rinse the condenser (or the second filter on a heat pump dryer) and empty the water tank. If it is still slow, ring us.
Is my dryer on a recall?
Some older models have been. Give us the model number and we will check the manufacturer's recall list before we come.
Do you fix heat pump dryers?
Yes, for filters, sensors, belts, pumps and boards. A failed heat pump itself is usually not economic to replace.
Book a repair, or ask first.
Ring and describe the fault: if it is something you can fix yourself, we will talk you through it for nothing. If not, the call-out is £59 and it is included in the fixed repair price when you go ahead.
