Check the door seal with a sheet of paper: shut it and pull; it should grip
Check the freezer is level so the door closes itself
A manual defrost will clear it for a few weeks

A rule of thumb, not a rule. A cheap pump on an old machine is still worth doing; bearings on a five-year-old machine with a sealed drum may not be. We give you the fixed price before we start, and say plainly when we would not spend the money.
