Sessions

Garden and park sessions

The same hour on your lawn, patio or the village green, all year, with a rain plan and a free rebook for ice.

Outside in your garden or a local park, all year, with a plan for rain, £45

Some people would rather sweat outside than in the front room, and some front rooms are too small. A lawn, a patio or the village green gives room for carries, sprints between cones and the bench, and the light does everyone good.

We bring a waterproof mat, kettlebells, bands, cones, a ladder and a folding bench, and we check the ground before we put anything down. A patio needs mats; a lawn after rain gets a groundsheet; a park needs a corner away from the football.

Popular park spots are Cowbridge Physic Garden's field side (not the garden itself), Llantwit Major's Colhugh Street green, Romilly Park in Barry and Alexandra Park in Penarth. We stick to the council's rules for personal trainers in each park and carry the insurance they ask for.

If the forecast says heavy rain we text the evening before and offer indoors, a carport or a new time. If you still want to train in the rain, so do we.

What is included

  • All outdoor kit, including a folding bench
  • A groundsheet and waterproof mats
  • A rain plan agreed at the first visit
  • Free rebook for lightning, ice or high wind
  • Hot drink optional, but appreciated

What we bring

  • Exercise mats One each, cleaned after every visit; thicker mats for anyone kneeling on a hard floor.
  • Kettlebells, 4 to 16 kg Squats, swings, carries and rows. We bring three weights so the next one up is always there.
  • Resistance bands Five strengths, light enough for a first session at 80 and strong enough to make a rugby player work.
  • Aerobic step Step-ups, incline press-ups and a seat height you can raise or lower.
  • Foam roller and massage ball For the cool-down and for anyone whose back or calves complain.
  • Folding bench Only where there is room: a garage, a garden or a big living room.
  • Cones, ladder and timer For interval circuits outside or in a cleared meeting room.
  • First-aid kit and defibrillator In the van at every visit, and both trainers are first-aid qualified.

What it costs

£45 an hour, ten for £420, the same travel fees as a home session. The area checker shows the travel fee for your postcode and the next free visit day.

Questions about garden and park

Do you train in the rain?

Yes, unless there is lightning, ice or a wind strong enough to be unsafe. Then we rebook free.

Can we train in a public park?

Yes. We follow each council's rules and carry the public liability insurance they require.

What if the grass is wet?

Groundsheet and waterproof mats. You may still go home with muddy knees.

Start with a free thirty-minute taster at home.

Check your postcode, then tell us when suits. Jac or Dan replies within the hour between visits with a time for a free taster: a look at the space, a short health questionnaire, a few exercises and a plan.
