£42 an hour one-to-one with a subject graduate or teacher, maths, sciences, humanities and languages, for the grade and the offer
A-level tuition
One-to-one at £42 an hour with a tutor who has a degree in the subject or teaches it at A-level: maths and further maths, biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, economics, history, English and languages. For the student who needs the A for the offer, the student who got a D in the mocks, and the student who finds the step up from GCSE bigger than anyone said.

A-level is where tutoring most needs a subject specialist. Our A-level tutors have degrees in the subjects they teach, several teach them at sixth-form level, and two are examiners. The work is specification and paper-led from the first session: which questions lose the marks, why, and what the mark scheme actually rewards, which is often not what the student thinks.
The free first session is an assessment against a recent paper, and the plan after it is written to the board (WJEC, AQA, Edexcel or OCR) and to the deadline: the mocks in January, the exams in June, a university offer with a condition in it. Lessons are an hour, weekly, at the centre or online, and most A-level students do a mix. Homework is a past-paper question or two, marked with the mark scheme explained.
We also do the things around the exam: the personal statement read by a tutor who has sat on an admissions panel, the admissions tests for medicine and Oxbridge with tutors who have sat them, and a straight conversation about whether the predicted grades are realistic. The Easter intensive takes A-level maths, biology, chemistry and psychology in groups of four.

Questions about a-level
My daughter got a D in the mock. Is an A possible?
Sometimes, and we will tell you after the first session rather than promise it. Between a D in January and a B in June is common; a D to an A needs the time and the student.
Do you do Welsh Baccalaureate?
The individual project, yes, with tutors who have supervised it. Not the skills challenges.
Start with the free session. Forty-five minutes, no obligation.
Tell us the year group and the subject, and we match a tutor and offer a slot for a free first session at the centre or online: an assessment, a chat with you both, and an honest view of what would help. We reply within the working day. Or ring the office.
