Getting here, and the house rules

The centre

112 Whitchurch Road, Heath, Cardiff CF14 3LY: the yellow-fronted building between the pharmacy and the bakery, two minutes from the Heath hospital roundabout. Eight teaching rooms over two floors, a quiet study room, and a waiting area with coffee for parents.

Getting here

Buses 21, 23 and 24 stop outside; Heath High Level and Low Level stations are a six-minute walk. Free parking on the side streets after 4pm and in the bays outside for twenty minutes for drop-off. Bike racks by the door.

Drop-off and pick-up

Students from Year 7 can arrive and leave on their own; younger children are signed in and out by an adult at the desk. Lessons start on the hour; please arrive five minutes before. If a student is not collected within fifteen minutes of a lesson ending we ring you and keep them in the waiting area.

Access

The ground floor, with four of the eight rooms and the toilet, is step-free from the street; the first floor is by stairs. Tell us when you book and we put the lesson downstairs. Online is available at every level.

Safeguarding

Every tutor has an enhanced DBS check, renewed yearly, held on file with the dates; Eleri is the designated safeguarding lead and the policy is on the wall of the waiting area and available on request. Rooms have glass panels in the doors. Parents may sit in on any lesson.

Hours

Term time: Monday to Thursday 3:30pm to 8pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm. The office answers the phone Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday mornings. In the holidays the centre opens for intensives and booked one-to-one.

Running late for a pick-up? Ring 029 2018 0450; we keep them in the waiting area with a book.

Start with the free session. Forty-five minutes, no obligation.

Tell us the year group and the subject, and we match a tutor and offer a slot for a free first session at the centre or online: an assessment, a chat with you both, and an honest view of what would help. We reply within the working day. Or ring the office.
