People

Nerys, Grace, and whoever has the oranges.

Members own the club, and a committee runs it. These two are who you will talk to first. Only adult coaches and officers appear on this page, on purpose.

The team

Nerys Bevan, head coach, a woman in her forties with auburn hair in a teal zip jacket with a whistle, in a sports hall

Nerys Bevan

Head coach

Nerys grew up in Tonyrefail and played centre for the county until her knees filed a complaint. She started Back to netball here in 2012 with six friends and one ball.

She coaches the league squad and the juniors, and holds a senior coaching award and a current DBS check (both placeholders on this demonstration site). She will move you to wing defence, and she will be right.

Grace Thomas, club chair and welfare officer, a woman in her thirties in a dark green sweatshirt, sitting on a low wall outside the leisure centre

Grace Thomas

Club chair and welfare officer

Grace came to a Tuesday session in 2017 after moving to the valley for a job at the hospital, and was chair within three years, which she blames on a quiz.

She runs Thursday walking netball, keeps the accounts and is the club's welfare officer. She does not coach juniors, on purpose: you can ring her about any of them, about anything, at any time. Name and role are placeholders on this demonstration site.

Looking after people

Plainly, how we keep people safe.

A welfare officer

Grace Thomas, who does not coach juniors. Her number is on the hall door. Placeholder name and role on this demonstration site.

Checked adults

Every coach and regular helper working with juniors holds a current DBS check. These are placeholders here; ask to see them at any club.

First aid

A first-aider and kit at every session and match, and a defibrillator in the leisure centre foyer.

No names online

We do not publish names or close-ups of children, and we only use group photographs with a parent's written consent.

Your first session is free. Bring trainers and some nerve.

You do not need to be fit, young or any good at all. Come along, try a bib on, and see who is laughing by the end of the warm-up. It is usually everyone.
