Thursday 11am
Walking netball
All the passing and all the arguments, with no running or jumping. Thursday at 11am, £3 with a cup of tea. Knees very welcome.

Walking netball is what it says: one foot on the floor at all times, with no running and no jumping. It is quite a lot more competitive than it sounds.
The usual rules are relaxed a bit: you get an extra step when you catch, and the session stops every now and then for breath and scandal. A lot of our Thursday players last touched a netball at school; several have new hips; one is ninety next year and refuses to play anywhere other than goal attack.
It is good for balance and for your heart, and it gets you out of the house, but it is not treatment for anything. If your doctor has told you to take care, have a word with them first, and tell Grace what they said.
The tea afterwards takes about as long as the netball. We can usually give you a lift from Tonyrefail or Gilfach Goch if you ring by Wednesday.

Questions about walking netball
Do I have to be over a certain age?
No. Most people are over fifty-five, but it suits anyone who cannot or would rather not run.
Can men come?
Yes. We have a few. They get told off as much as anyone.
Your first session is free. Bring trainers and some nerve.
You do not need to be fit, young or any good at all. Come along, try a bib on, and see who is laughing by the end of the warm-up. It is usually everyone.
