£3,950: any day November to March, fires lit, the bedrooms for one night

The winter

The Barn with the fires lit and the valley frosted: any day from November to March except New Year's Eve, Saturdays included, for £3,950 with exclusive use, all twelve bedrooms for the night, and the Snug with the wood-burner for the morning after. Candlelit at four o'clock, which is the point.

Ty Mawr Barn at blue hour in winter with frost on the courtyard and warm light in every window

Winter weddings are our favourite to run. The Barn was built for weather, the fires are real, it is dark by half past four so the candles and the festoons do the work, and the Stables are a short run across the Courtyard with a coat over your head. Numbers tend to be smaller and the day tends to be warmer, in the way that matters.

The ceremony is in the Cowshed with the wood-burner going, drinks are in the Barn by the big fire rather than the Courtyard, and the feast is a winter menu: Tomos does a slow roast and a pie course, mulled things at the door, and a cheese table at ten. Hire is 10am to midnight on any day, Saturdays included, and the bedrooms are in for the night with breakfast by the Snug fire.

Capacities are the Barn's: 180 seated, 240 standing. The Courtyard and the Meadow are there if the day is fine, and the fire pit is lit regardless. The only date we hold back is New Year's Eve, which is a separate price and goes two years out.

Questions about winter

Is it warm?

Yes. Underfloor heating went in with the restoration, the fires are extra, and the Cowshed has a wood-burner the size of a small car. Guests take their coats off.

What about getting here in snow?

The lane is gritted and we have a tractor. In seven winters we have moved one ceremony time by an hour and cancelled nothing.

Pick a date, tell us the numbers, and come and stand in it.

The enquiry form has a date picker and takes two minutes; Ceri replies within the working day with a viewing if the date is free and two honest alternatives if it is not. Viewings are an hour, Tuesday to Saturday, at the time of day your ceremony would be.
