Capacity
What fits where, honestly.
Venues round these numbers up. Ours are the ones the fire officer and our own staff agreed: the number of people who can sit with room to get to the loo, stand with a drink without being pushed, and dance without the band losing a speaker. If your numbers are over a line, we will say so and suggest the tipi or a different layout.

The table
Every layout, every space.
A dash means the layout is not offered in that space. The tipi is May to September. The Stables are not in the table: twelve rooms, 26 beds, every package.

The small print, in large print
Four things the numbers assume.
Long tables are 6ft oak
Eight a side plus two ends, 180 in nine rows of two with a central aisle. Rounds are 5ft 6in seating ten; 150 is fifteen of them with the dance floor clear. A top table for ten takes six off either count.
Ceremonies are rows with an aisle
The Cowshed is licensed for 120 in rows of eight; the Barn for 200 in rows of twelve. The Meadow is not licensed, so an outdoor ceremony there is a celebrant one with the legal words done inside first, which many couples prefer.
Standing means a drink in hand
240 in the Barn is with the doors to the Courtyard open; 150 in the Cowshed is the drinks reception when it rains. The band takes the stage end; the bar is in the Snug, which is why the Snug counts.
Evening numbers include day guests
240 is the total in the building for the evening, not an extra 240. If you are 180 for dinner you can invite 60 more for the band. Children count; babies in arms do not.

Over 180
Bigger than the Barn? The tipi on the Meadow adds 150 seated, May to September.
A sailcloth tipi from Sailcloth Wales goes up on the Meadow pitch on the Thursday for £2,400 for the weekend, seats 150 at long tables with its sides up and the valley in view, and takes 250 standing with the band inside. The Barn becomes the wet-weather room and the evening room; most couples feast in the tipi and dance in the Barn. Over 240 in total is the honest limit of the site and we say so.
Ask about the tipiPick a date, tell us the numbers, and come and stand in it.
The enquiry form has a date picker and takes two minutes; Ceri replies within the working day with a viewing if the date is free and two honest alternatives if it is not. Viewings are an hour, Tuesday to Saturday, at the time of day your ceremony would be.
