The midweek
Everything the weekend has, on a Monday to Thursday, for three thousand pounds less: the same spaces, the same team, the same kitchen, exclusive use from ten in the morning to midnight, and all twelve bedrooms for the night. The best value in the building, and the dates are still free next summer.
A Thursday wedding is the same wedding with a smaller bill, and guests come: in our experience about nine in ten of the people you would have invited on a Saturday. The Barn does not know what day it is, the light over the valley is the same, and Tomos cooks the same food. You save three thousand pounds on the hire and most suppliers are cheaper midweek too.
Hire runs from 10am for set-up (earlier by arrangement, free, if the florist needs it) to midnight, with the same ceremony options, the same capacities, the same bar and the same team. The twelve Stable rooms are included for the wedding night with breakfast; a second night is £1,400 for all twelve if you want to arrive the day before and set up at leisure.
The midweek package is also what we recommend for larger celebrations that are not weddings: a fortieth, a vow renewal, a big family party, a company summer do. The Barn seats 180 and the Meadow takes the tipi from May to September at the same £2,400.

What it costs

Questions about midweek
Will people come on a Thursday?
In our experience, about nine in ten. Give them the date early, offer the Stables and a minibus from Abergavenny, and plan a later start; a 2pm ceremony and a 1am carriage suits a Friday morning off.
Can the midweek become a two-day event?
Yes: add the second night in the Stables for £1,400 and use the first evening for a rehearsal supper in the Courtyard. Hire of the spaces the day before is £950 if you want them set up and used.
