The estimate uses the published hourly rates and the hours a move of that size usually takes across the city. It is a range, honestly, because a three-bed with a loft full of books is not a three-bed with a loft full of nothing. The quote after a ten-minute video survey replaces it and is the figure on the invoice.

Questions about the estimate
Why a range and not a price?
Because the hour is the price and the hours depend on the house: the loft, the garden, the stairs, how far the van can park from the door, and whether the boxes are packed. The survey turns the range into a quote in writing, and that quote is the invoice.
Is the lorry really cheaper for a three-bed?
Sometimes: three crew at £110 do a full three-bed in five hours where two crew in the Luton take seven, so £550 against £595. The survey decides; we send whichever is cheaper for you, not for us.
What makes a move take longer?
Unpacked drawers, a van that has to park a street away, a lift that has to be shared, a late completion, and furniture that has to come apart. The checklist page covers the ones you can fix the week before.
