An annual service for heat pumps (required by most warranties), a solar health check with a panel clean and an inverter test, inverter replacements when the old one dies after ten years, and repairs to systems other installers fitted and walked away from. Heat pump service £165.
Solar panels have no moving parts and need very little. Inverters and heat pumps are machines, and machines last longer when somebody looks at them once a year.
A heat pump service checks the refrigerant circuit for leaks, the fan and coil, the water pressure, the filters and the controls, and the flow temperatures against the design. Most manufacturers require one a year to keep the warranty; we book it automatically and send a reminder.
A solar health check compares what your system produces with what it should, tests the inverter and isolators, checks the roof fixings and the bird mesh, and cleans the panels if they need it (on the coast, salt and gull deposits are worth removing once a year). The commonest fault is an inverter that has quietly stopped; we fit replacements, usually a hybrid so a battery can follow.
We also repair systems we did not fit, including those from installers who have since disappeared. We will tell you what we find, what it costs to fix, and whether it is worth fixing.

Questions about servicing and repairs
How do I know my solar has stopped working?
Check the inverter display or app once a month. If generation is zero on a bright day, or much lower than the same month last year, ring us.
Do panels need cleaning?
Inland, rain does most of it. Within a mile of the sea, salt and gulls can take 5 to 10% off; a yearly clean is worth it.
Will you fix a system you did not install?
Yes. The first visit is £95 including the first hour, and we give you a written price before doing more.
