The team

Three people and a bench.

Rhys opened the shop in 2010 with one bench and a phone. Ceri runs the bench and the counter, and Owain, who is usually out in the van, does most of the on-site visits and network installs. When you ring, it is one of us.

The people

Rhys Pugh, a stocky man in his forties with short greying dark hair and stubble, in a navy quarter-zip jumper in the workshop with laptops on shelves behind him

Rhys Pugh

Founder, plans and networks

Rhys spent eleven years in the IT department of a manufacturer at Pentrebach, then opened the shop on Castle Street in 2010 with one bench and a phone. He looks after the forty-one plan clients, does the network surveys and the quarterly reviews, and still answers the desk most mornings. He grew up in Gurnos and plays walking football on Thursdays.

Ceri Lloyd

Repair bench and the counter

Ceri runs the bench and the counter: about thirty-five machines a week, from a cracked screen to a drive that clicks. She trained at Merthyr College, joined in 2016 and wrote the booking-in routine where every machine is photographed and its data copied before it is opened. She will tell you when a repair is not worth it.

Owain Davies joined in 2021 from an apprenticeship with us and does the visits, the network installs and the new-PC rollouts. He is camera-shy, so there is no photograph, but you will have met him if you have had a visit.

  • 16years on Castle Street
  • 41businesses on a monthly plan
  • 23 minaverage first reply on the desk last quarter
  • 1,900+laptops and PCs through the bench a year

How we work

Four rules the shop runs on.

You hear back in the hour

Every request gets a human reply within the response time on your plan, with a name and a plan. Business Plus is one working hour, Business two, Essentials four.

Quoted before we touch it

A repair is diagnosed for £25, waived if you go ahead, and the price is agreed before any part is ordered. If it is not worth fixing, we say so.

Your data stays yours

We back it up before we work on it, we never keep copies afterwards, and failed drives are wiped or handed back, never binned.

Written down when it is done

Every job ends with a note of what we found, what we did and what to watch. Plan clients get a monthly report of every ticket, patch and backup.

Ring the desk, or bring it in.

A person answers 01685 496 0880 from eight till six on weekdays. For a repair, bring the machine to the counter on Castle Street; for a plan, book a free IT review and Rhys will come and look at what you have.
