Wi-Fi that reaches the back office, cabling that is labelled
Networks and Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi that works in every room, a firewall that is patched, cabling that is labelled and a comms cupboard you can open without fear: surveys, access points, routers, switches and guest networks for offices, shops, surgeries and pubs.

The commonest network we find is the broadband router in a cupboard, a booster plugged into a socket upstairs, and a tangle of cables nobody dares unplug. It works until it does not. We replace it with something you can understand.
A survey comes first: we walk the building with a meter, note where the signal drops and where the walls are stone, and write down every cable and device. Then a plan and a price: usually two or three ceiling access points on one network, a separate guest network for customers, and a firewall that gets its updates. On old stone buildings, of which Merthyr has many, we often run a cable rather than fight the walls.
Everything is labelled at both ends and drawn on one page that lives in the cupboard and in your setup record. On a plan we watch the firewall and the access points and get an alert if one drops, often before you notice.

Questions about networks and Wi-Fi
Will a mesh kit from a shop do?
For a house, often. For an office with twelve people on video calls, a consumer mesh struggles and cannot be managed remotely. We will tell you honestly which side of that line you are on.
Can you sort out our broadband provider?
We can ring them as your agent, read the line stats, and argue with the fault desk. Plan clients get this included; otherwise it is on-site or remote time at the hourly rate.
Ring the desk, or bring it in.
A person answers 01685 496 0880 from eight till six on weekdays. For a repair, bring the machine to the counter on Castle Street; for a plan, book a free IT review and Rhys will come and look at what you have.
