The coaches

Two coaches, by name.

A trainer with twelve years on GP exercise referral, and a hospital chef turned habit coach who is clear that he is not a dietitian.

Bethan Hughes

Founder and personal trainer

Bethan spent twelve years running exercise referral classes in Torfaen leisure centres, working with people sent by their GPs after heart attacks, with diabetes, or simply told to lose weight and given no idea how. She opened the studio in 2017 to do the same work with more time per person. Level 3 personal trainer, Level 4 obesity and diabetes management (placeholders on this demonstration site), first aid, enhanced DBS.

Rhys Morgan, a man in his thirties with a ginger beard and a charcoal jumper, standing in a bright kitchen with a fruit bowl behind

Rhys Morgan

Nutrition habit coach

Rhys was a chef for ten years, the last four in a hospital kitchen, before retraining as a nutrition coach. He runs the habit coaching and the Saturday workshops, and he is the one who will show you how to make a lunch for £1.80. He is not a dietitian and says so; he works alongside two registered dietitians in Newport and refers to them when it matters. Level 4 nutrition coaching (a placeholder), food hygiene Level 3.

What we are, and are not

Qualified for what we do. Clear about what we do not.

Personal training

Level 3 personal training and Level 4 obesity and diabetes management, both placeholders on this demonstration site, with first aid renewed every three years.

Nutrition coaching

Level 4 nutrition coaching (a placeholder). Habits and food choices for healthy adults, not medical diets.

Not dietitians

Registered dietitians treat medical conditions with food. We refer to two in Newport and work to their plans when you see them.

Not doctors

Chest pain, dizziness, a new lump, a sudden change in weight you cannot explain: see your GP. We will wait.

Start with a free thirty-minute chat.

In the studio or on the phone, no weighing and no hard sell: what you want, what has and has not worked before, and which of our services, if any, would suit you. Bethan or Rhys replies within a working day.
