What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.

What we collect

When you use the booking form we collect your name, phone number, email address, the property postcode, the service and urgency you choose and anything you write in the message box. The form also records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions.

When you become a customer we keep the certificates and reports we issue for your property, because the law requires us to and because you may need a copy later.

Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange a slot (our legitimate interest in answering you, and the steps needed before a contract).
  • To carry out the work, invoice you and honour the guarantee (contract).
  • To keep certificates and notify building control through our scheme (legal obligation).
  • To remind landlords when the next EICR is due, if you have asked us to (consent; stop at any time by email).

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted after six months. Customer records, invoices and certificates are kept for seven years. Reminder lists are kept until you ask to be removed.

Who sees it

Our three staff, our accountant, the competent person scheme we notify work through, and the network operator where an EV charger installation must be registered. The booking form is delivered by email to our office; we do not use third-party form services or marketing platforms. We do not sell or share your details for marketing.

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@voltaelectrical.co.uk or write to the address above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
