What we do

Six things, done to the same standard.

All services and prices

01

EICR and electrical certificates

The Electrical Installation Condition Report every rented home needs and every buyer should ask for, done properly, explained in plain English and emailed the same day.

EICR £139 for a flat or two-bedroom house, £169 for three bedrooms, £219 for four or more.

02

Fuse board and consumer unit upgrades

Replacing old fuse boxes and plastic consumer units with a metal-clad board with RCD protection on every circuit, in a day, with the certificate and the building control notification.

Consumer unit upgrades from £549 including the board, RCBO on every circuit, surge protection, testing, certificate and notification.

03

Rewiring

Full rewires for houses with rubber, lead or 1960s cable, and partial rewires where one circuit has failed, planned room by room so you can live in the house.

Full rewires from £3,900 for a two-bedroom flat, £5,200 for a three-bedroom house, including a new consumer unit, all sockets, switches and lights, making good the chases and the certificate.

04

EV charger installation

Home EV chargers supplied and fitted in a morning, with the earthing, the isolator and the notification done properly so it is safe and the warranty is valid.

From £849 supplied and fitted for a 7 kW smart charger with up to 10 metres of cable run.

05

Lighting, sockets and power

The everyday jobs: more sockets where you need them, downlights that do not fry the loft insulation, garden lighting on a timer, cooker and shower circuits.

Extra double socket from £95.

06

Fault finding and emergencies

An RCD that trips at random, a circuit that is dead, a socket that is warm or a smell of burning: found properly with test equipment, not by swapping parts, and fixed.

Call-out £85 including the first hour in office hours, £140 out of hours.

EICR explained

The report, the codes and what you have to do about them.

An Electrical Installation Condition Report says whether the wiring is safe. Every observation gets a code, and the code decides what happens next. We wrote a plain-English guide so you can read the one we send you.

  • Landlords: every five years, copy to the tenant within 28 days
  • Homeowners: every ten years, and before you buy
  • C1 and C2 make the report unsatisfactory; C3 does not
  • A six-point fuse board checklist you can do yourself

How we work

Four promises, written on the invoice.

A certificate for everything

Every job that produces a certificate produces one: EICR, electrical installation certificate, minor works. Emailed as a PDF the same day.

Fixed prices, quoted first

EICRs, boards, chargers and call-outs are fixed prices. Anything else is quoted after a look, and the quote is the bill.

Same-week slots

Two vans, a diary that is not overbooked, and a typical wait of two days. Loss of power is same day.

Tidy, and honest about dust

Chasing walls makes dust; we sheet up, hoover, and tell you in advance which rooms will be affected and for how long.

  • 11years wiring Cardiff
  • 3,200+EICRs issued
  • 48 hrstypical wait for a slot
  • 4.9average rating

EV chargers

Fitted in a morning. Earthed properly, which is the bit that matters.

A 7 kW smart charger supplied and fitted from £849, with a free survey of the supply first so the price we quote is the price you pay. Open-PEN protection or an earth rod where the supply needs it, isolator, network notification and the app set up on your tariff before we leave.

EICR

EICR on a house we were buying. Amira found a C2 the survey missed, we knocked the price down, and Volta did the board change the week after we completed. Report in my inbox before she had left the drive.

Priya and Tom S.Roath
Landlord EICRs

Six student houses, six EICRs, the remedials done on the unsatisfactory ones and the retests free. One invoice, one PDF per property, and a reminder in four years. Exactly what I needed.

Fault finding

RCD tripping every time it rained for a year and two electricians had replaced the RCD. Dan found the outside socket full of water in ten minutes. £85.
