Reviews

What our clients say.

Six reviews, one for each thing we do, including the four-star one. Collected by an independent platform after completion or the end of a tenancy; we do not choose which appear, and tenants are invited as well as landlords, which not every agent does.

Selling

Three valuations: two agents said £650,000 and Ffion said £595,000 with the evidence on the table. We went with the £650,000 one, had no viewings in eight weeks, came back to Severnside, listed at £595,000 and sold in eleven days for £602,000. Lesson learned, and she never once said told you so.

Full management

Two flats on full management for six years. The 10% is the whole cost: the repairs come through at the plumber's invoice price with the invoice attached, the inspections have photographs, and when Renting Homes came in Mark had the new contracts done before I knew the law had changed.

Buying

First-time buyers. Josh told us the cottage had oil heating, a septic tank and a neighbour with a cockerel before we had got out of the car, which no other agent would have, and we bought it anyway with our eyes open. He rang the solicitors every week and it completed on the day we asked for.

Renting

Renting with them for three years. No fees, the deposit certificate arrived the week we moved in, and the one time the boiler went on a Sunday the 24-hour line answered and an engineer was there Monday morning. When we left the deposit was back in six days, in full.

Selling

Sold the family home through Severnside after Dad died. The probate valuation was prompt and plain, the sale straightforward, 1.2% as stated. Four stars because the first set of photographs went up with the neighbour's wheelie bins in shot; Ffion had them reshot within two days and apologised properly.

Tenant find

Tenant find only, £450, for our old house when we moved to Devon. Referenced tenants in three days, the Welsh contract and written statement done properly (our previous agent in Exeter had no idea Wales was different), deposit registered, and the tenants are still there four years on.

About the four stars

The wheelie bins were in the photographs. Every set is checked by two of us now.

Rhodri's father's house went live with the neighbour's bins in the front-elevation shot because the photographer sent the set at six and Ffion approved it from her phone. They were reshot within two days at no charge and the listing was better for it, but the first forty-eight hours on the portals are the ones that matter and we had wasted them. Every set of photographs is now checked on a full screen by two of us before it goes anywhere, and the photographer is booked for a dry morning with the bins in the lane.
