Perimenopause and after
Menopause nutrition
Protein, bones, sleep, the weight that seems to arrive from nowhere and the articles that all disagree. Food works alongside your medical care, and does not replace it.

Food will not stop a hot flush for most women, and we will not pretend it does. It does matter for your bones, your heart and your muscle, all of which get less forgiving from about now.
We look at protein across the day, calcium and vitamin D, fibre, alcohol and how you sleep. We talk about strength training, because you cannot eat your way to keeping muscle. We read your blood results if you have them, and if you have questions about HRT we will send you to your GP or a menopause clinic with those questions written down.
There is some evidence for soya foods helping a little with hot flushes in some women, and we will tell you how little. Supplements sold for the menopause are mostly expensive. Most women do not need them.
What is included
- Your food diary and blood results, reviewed

What it costs
A first session is £85. There is also a monthly small group at the Old School for £20 a session. We do not sell blocks of sessions or memberships, and there is nothing to buy from us. The how it works page explains the rest.
Questions about menopause nutrition
Is this instead of HRT?
No. It is alongside whatever you and your doctor decide. We have no view on whether you should take it, and we do not prescribe.
Why am I gaining weight when I have not changed anything?
Age and hormones both shift where your body stores fat, and you may be moving less and sleeping worse. We look at what you can do, without promising what it will achieve.
Bring a week of real food.
Seventy-five minutes at the old school table for £85, with three things to change at the end of it. The biscuits stay in the diary. Nobody will be shocked.
