How it works
How it works.
Six steps, with no blocks of sessions and nothing to buy. Most people come two to four times, some just once, and we would rather you did not need us for long.

The steps
Before you come
We send you a one-week food diary and a short health questionnaire. Write down what you actually eat, including the biscuits, and send it back or bring it with you.
At the table
Seventy-five minutes in the old headmaster's room. We go through the week, your health, your work and your kitchen, and we look at any blood results you have.
Three things
You leave with no more than three things to change. They are written down the same week, on one page, with the reasons alongside each.
After a few weeks
If you want a follow-up, it is forty-five minutes, about four weeks later. We see what stuck and what did not, and we change the plan and not you.
If it needs more
If something needs a doctor or a dietitian, we say so and write the letter. If you are fine and do not need us again, we say that too.
When you are done
Most people have between two and four sessions. We do not sell blocks, and there is no membership. You can ring us in a year's time with a question.
Nutritionist or dietitian?
We are nutritionists, and the difference matters.
Dietitians are regulated by the HCPC and trained to treat medical conditions with diet, often in hospitals and through your GP. Registered nutritionists work with generally healthy people on food and wellbeing. Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, so check they are on a register.
If you have kidney disease, are on insulin, have a serious food allergy or an eating disorder, you need a dietitian and your medical team. We will tell you and help you get there.

Questions about how it works
What do you need before I come?
The one-week food diary and the short questionnaire, plus any recent blood results. Do not worry if you cannot manage all seven days: three is useful.
Can I come online?
Follow-ups, yes. We prefer to meet you the first time, but if coming in is hard, tell us and we will sort it out.
Can I claim this on health insurance?
Some insurers cover registered nutritionists: check with yours. We provide a receipt with what they need.
What if I cancel?
Tell us the day before and there is no charge. If you forget, we will charge half, once, and we will send you a kind reminder.
Bring a week of real food.
Seventy-five minutes at the old school table for £85, with three things to change at the end of it. The biscuits stay in the diary. Nobody will be shocked.
