Independent nurse prescriber

Prescriber consultations

A private medical conversation with Helen about skin, sweating or anything you have read about, with no obligation to do anything afterwards.

Sometimes you just want someone qualified to look at you and tell you the truth. We do these for excess underarm sweating, for skin problems that might need a GP, and for second opinions.

Helen is an independent nurse prescriber and has been a nurse for twenty-six years. She looks at your history and medication, examines the area in question, and tells you what she would do if you were her sister. Often that is to see your GP, and if so she will write to them with your agreement.

For heavy sweating, we want to know the cause first: new sweating at night, weight loss or a fever needs a doctor, not us. If a prescription is suitable, you get written information and at least seven days to think.

What is included

  • A full medical history and medication review
  • Examination in person, never by video
  • A written summary to take away
  • A letter to your GP if you agree

What it costs

A prescriber consultation is £60 for forty-five minutes, whether or not anything is prescribed. There are no packages or offers. You pay for the consultation you had, and nothing more unless you decide to go ahead.

Questions about prescriber consultations

Can this be done online?

No. Any decision to prescribe is made after seeing you in the room.

Will you tell my GP?

Only with your agreement, though we will strongly encourage it if you are on medication or the treatment could affect your care.

Start with a conversation.

Forty-five minutes in a quiet room. Nothing is done on the day, and you can leave having decided against everything.
