Forty-five minutes, one dog, one walker

Solo walks

For the reactive, the nervous, the old, the in-season and the ones who simply prefer people to dogs: forty-five minutes alone with a walker, at your dog's pace, on the routes it is happy on. £24.

A grey greyhound in a fleece coat on a long training lead walking calmly beside a walker on a quiet leafy lane

Not every dog wants a group, and some cannot have one. A solo walk is the same walker, the same days, and forty-five minutes planned around the dog: the quiet end of the park for a reactive collie, a slow lap of Thompson's Park for a dog of fourteen, the Taff Trail on a long line for the greyhound who has never been off a lead.

We ask a lot of questions at the meet and greet: what sets your dog off, what it loves, where it has had a bad time. Then we plan a route that avoids the first and finds the second. A reactive dog is walked at the times the park is quiet, with a plan for what we do when a loose dog appears. An old dog is walked for as long as it wants and then sat with on a bench.

Dogs in season are walked solo for the three weeks, on the lead, away from the fields. Dogs recovering from surgery are walked to the vet's instructions, lead only, with the time written on the note. If a solo dog is ready to try a group, we say so; we do not keep a sociable dog on the solo rate.

Questions about solo walks

My dog is reactive to other dogs. Can you walk it?

Usually, yes. We meet first, ask what the triggers are, and walk at quiet times on routes with escape room. A dog that has bitten a person is a conversation with Sioned before we say yes.

Do you walk dogs that wear a muzzle?

Yes, in a muzzle it is used to and comfortable in. We will not walk a dog in a muzzle it fights; ask us about getting one fitted and introduced.

Book a meet and greet.

Free, up to forty-five minutes, at your house or on the fields. We meet the dog, agree the days and the walker, and take a key. Message or ring, or use the form, and we reply within the day.
