Walks

Six kinds of walk, one price list.

A group walk for most dogs, a solo walk for the ones who need it, visits for puppies, three hours on a hill for the ones who need more, training for the pullers, and the weekends and odd days in between. Every walk timed from the gate, every one with a photo and a note.

01

Group walks

An hour off the lead in Pontcanna Fields, Llandaff Fields or Bute Park with up to three other dogs matched for size and manners, collected and returned by the same walker. £16, with a photo and a note after every walk.

£16 a walk, £8 for a second dog from the same home.

02

Solo walks

For the reactive, the nervous, the old, the in-season and the ones who simply prefer people to dogs: forty-five minutes alone with a walker, at your dog's pace, on the routes it is happy on. £24.

£24 a walk, £8 for a second dog from the same home walked together.

03

Puppy visits

For a puppy not yet old enough or vaccinated enough for the park: a thirty-minute visit at home in the middle of the day, into the garden, a feed, a play, a little lead work and back in the crate or pen. £14, and it turns into a group walk when the vet says so.

£14 a visit, twice a day £26.

04

Adventure mornings

A three-hour morning in the van and on the hills: the Garth, Castell Coch woods, Forest Farm or the beach at Ogmore in winter, with three other dogs who are fit enough for it. Home muddy, towelled and asleep by two. £38.

£38, second dog £16.

05

Training walks

A one-to-one walk with Ffion working on one thing: recall, loose-lead walking, passing other dogs, or settling in the van. Forty-five minutes, written up afterwards with what to practise at home. £30.

£30 a session, usually one a week for four to six weeks alongside the normal walks.

06

Weekends, holidays and ad hoc

Saturday group walks until two, solo walks and visits on Sundays and bank holidays, and the one-off: a walk because you are in the office for once, a visit because the train is late. Booked by message, confirmed by reply. Small supplements, published.

Saturday +£4 a walk, Sunday and bank holiday +£8, booked after 6pm the evening before +£5.

Why four

Four dogs is the most one person can actually watch.

Walk past Llandaff Fields on a weekday morning and you will see packs of eight or ten with one walker and a phone. Four is the number at which the walker can see every dog, read every approach, and get between two of them before anything starts. It is also why our groups are matched at the meet and greet and kept the same week to week, and why there is sometimes a wait for a slot. We would rather you waited than your dog walked in a scrum.

Free, up to forty-five minutes, at your house or on the fields. We meet the dog, agree the days and the walker, and take a key. Message or ring, or use the form, and we reply within the day.
