Gutter clearing

Vacuumed from the ground with poles to fourteen metres, every run filmed before and after, the downpipes flushed.

From £55 a bungalow-height terrace, £65 for a two-storey terrace

Pontypridd gets about 1,400 millimetres of rain a year, nearly twice London's, and most of it comes off a slate roof into a gutter that nobody has looked into since the house was last painted. A blocked gutter overflows down the wall, and a wet wall is a damp wall.

We clear gutters with an industrial vacuum and sectional carbon fibre poles that reach fourteen metres from the pavement: high enough for a three-storey terrace on a slope. A camera on the head of the pole shows the inside of the gutter on a tablet, so we can see what we are lifting and you can see what is left, which should be nothing.

Every run is filmed before and after, and the photographs come to you by text the same day. The downpipes are flushed with water from the top, and if one is blocked lower down, we rod it from the bottom.

Nothing leans on your gutters. No ladders against plastic, no one on your roof. The only things that touch the house are the vacuum head and the camera, and both are soft-edged.

Questions about gutters

How often should gutters be cleared?

Once a year for most houses, in late autumn or winter. Twice if there are trees over the roof or the house faces the prevailing wind off the valley side.

Can you reach a three-storey terrace on a hill?

Usually from the pavement on the low side. If the back is on a steep bank with no access, we say so before we book.

Do I need to be in?

No, if we can get to the back. We send the photographs and the invoice by text.

Choose your house, see the price, pick the month.

Gutters any time; drives, render and roofs when the weather lets the job work. Photographs of every gutter run come by text the same day.
