Questions about sizes
How big is a bin bag in skip terms?
A full black bin bag, loose, is about a tenth of a cubic yard, so a 4-yard skip holds about forty. Bulky things like a sofa take far more room than their weight suggests: break them down if you can.
Why the extra fifteen per cent?
Because nobody packs a skip like a removal van. Broken units, branches and odd shapes leave gaps, and a skip that cannot be sheeted cannot be driven.
What is "heavy waste"?
Soil, rubble, bricks, concrete, tiles and plaster. A cubic yard of rubble is about a tonne, so heavy waste stops at the top edge, never goes in a maxi, and in an 8-yard skip soil should stop at half.
What if I order too small?
Ring when it is full and we swap it for an empty one for the price of a new skip less £20, usually the same or next day.
