The permit sortedIf the skip has to go on the road, the council needs a permit. The delivery checker says whether you need one, what your council charges, and the day we can deliver. We apply for it; you never ring the council.
Fourteen days, all inEvery price includes delivery, fourteen days on site, collection, the tipping and VAT. Lights and cones for a road skip are free. Each extra week is £25.
92 per cent recycledEverything that comes back is tipped at our licensed transfer station in Hirwaun and sorted by hand and machine: rubble to aggregate, wood to biomass, metal to the merchant. Barely anything goes to landfill.

Skips

From a bathroom to a building site.

All six

2–3 yd

Mini skips, 2 and 3 yards

The skip for a bathroom rip-out, a shed full of rubbish or a weekend in the garden. Small enough for most drives and narrow terraced streets, and takes heavy waste like tiles and soil. From £170 for fourteen days, delivered and collected.

A 2-yard mini £170 and a 3-yard mini £195, for fourteen days with delivery, collection, tipping and VAT.

4–5 yd

Midi skips, 4 and 5 yards

Our most hired skip: a kitchen rip-out, a loft, a big garden job or a small house tidy. Takes forty to fifty bin bags of waste, light or heavy, and still fits on most drives. From £225 for fourteen days.

A 4-yard midi £225 and a 5-yard midi £245, for fourteen days with delivery, collection, tipping and VAT.

6–8 yd

Builders' skips, 6 and 8 yards

The skip you see outside every extension: six or eight yards, for rubble, blocks, timber and the waste from building work. On the drive, or on the road with lights, cones and a council permit we apply for. From £265.

A 6-yard builders' skip £265 and an 8-yard £295, for fourteen days with delivery, collection, tipping and VAT. A road permit is extra, by council.

12–40 yd

Maxi skips and roll-on roll-off

A 12-yard maxi for a whole house clearance or a shop refit, and 20 to 40-yard roll-on roll-off containers for building sites and factories. For bulky, light waste: no soil or rubble. From £385.

A 12-yard maxi £385 for fourteen days. Roll-on roll-off from £520 for 20 yards, priced by the tonne above four tonnes.

by the hour

Wait-and-load

No room for a skip, no time for a permit, or a street where a skip would not last the night? The lorry brings a skip, waits up to an hour while you load it, and takes it away. No permit needed. From £210.

Wait-and-load from £210 for a 6-yard skip and up to an hour.

the list

What cannot go in, and why

Fridges, televisions, gas bottles, asbestos, paint, tyres, batteries and plasterboard mixed in with everything else: what cannot go in a skip, the law behind each, and what we can take separately, with the prices.

Mattresses £30, fridges and freezers £45, tyres £10 each, collected on the same lorry. Plasterboard free if kept separate.

Delivery and permits

On the road? The permit is our job, and the checker gives the date.

A skip on your drive needs nothing. A skip on the road or the pavement needs a permit from the council, and each council charges differently and takes a different time: two working days in Merthyr, three in Rhondda Cynon Taf, five in Neath Port Talbot. Put in your postcode and the delivery checker gives the council, the fee and the first day we can deliver, from today's date.

How we work

Four things true of every skip.

Order by two, here tomorrow

Ring or book by 2pm and the skip is on your drive the next working day, between 7:30 and 1 unless you ask for a time. Road skips wait for the permit; the checker gives that date.

Boards under every skip

A loaded eight-yard skip weighs eight tonnes. The driver lays scaffold boards under the feet on every drive and patio, and will not drop a skip somewhere that will crack.

Licensed, every load

We hold a waste carrier's licence and run a permitted transfer station, and you get a waste transfer note with every skip. If a fly-tipper ever claims they had it from you, that note is your proof.

A real person on the phone

Sian answers from 7:30, knows the drives on most streets in Aberdare, and will tell you honestly if a mini skip and two trips to the tip would be cheaper.

Mini skip

The size picker said a 3-yard mini for our bathroom, £195, and warned that the fifteen bags in the shed would push it to a midi, so they went to the tip. The bathroom went in with a foot to spare. Ordered at eleven, on the drive at eight the next morning with boards under it.

Road permit

Needed it on the road outside a terrace. The checker said Rhondda Cynon Taf, a £45 permit and the following Wednesday, and that is exactly when it came, with lights. I never spoke to the council once.

Questions people ask before they book

What size skip do I need?

For a bathroom, a 2 or 3-yard mini; a kitchen, a 4-yard midi; building work, a 6 or 8-yard builders' skip; a house clearance, a 12-yard maxi. The size picker works it out with the bags you have already filled.

How much is a skip?

For fourteen days with delivery, collection, tipping and VAT: 2-yard £170, 3-yard £195, 4-yard £225, 5-yard £245, 6-yard £265, 8-yard £295, 12-yard £385.

Do I need a permit?

Only if the skip goes on the road or the pavement. On your drive or in your garden, no. If you do, the delivery checker gives the council fee and the first day, and we apply for it.

How quickly can you deliver?

Order by 2pm for the next working day on a drive. A road skip waits for the permit: two to five working days by council.

What cannot go in?

Fridges, TVs, gas bottles, asbestos, wet paint, tyres, batteries and medical waste. Plasterboard must be kept separate. We collect most of those separately for a fee.

Where does it go?

To our transfer station in Hirwaun, where it is sorted: 92 per cent is recycled into aggregate, biomass fuel, metal and new plasterboard.

Order by two. On your drive tomorrow.

Pick the size, tell us where it goes, and Glyn or one of the drivers drops it with boards under it. Fourteen days, collection, tipping and VAT in the price, and the permit sorted if it goes on the road.
