What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.
What we collect
When you use the booking form we collect your name, phone number, email address and postcode, a preferred date if you give one, the skip you want and where it will go, and anything you write. The form also records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions. The size picker and the delivery checker collect nothing: it is worked out from the address bar on each request and nothing is stored.
When you book we hold the delivery address, the skip, the dates, the payment record, any council permit application, and the waste transfer note, which the law requires us to keep.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and book the visit (our legitimate interest in replying to you).
- To perform the contract: delivering, collecting and tipping the skip, and applying for any permit.
- To keep accounting records and waste transfer notes (legal obligations).
- To ask for a review a week after collection, which you can decline by replying.
Who sees it
Our office and drivers; the council, who receive your name and address when we apply for a road permit; Natural Resources Wales if they inspect our waste records; our accountant; and the independent review platform if you agree to be asked. We do not sell or share your details for marketing, and we do not use tracking cookies or analytics scripts on this website. The map on the yard page is served by Google and is subject to their privacy policy; the fonts are served by Google Fonts.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become a booking are deleted after a year. Bookings and waste transfer notes are kept for the two years the law requires and payment records for six.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we have no legal reason to keep it, and object to our using it for marketing. Email hello@cwm-skip-hire.co.uk or write to the yard; we answer within a month. If you are not happy with the answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
The booking form sets one session cookie so that it can stop the same person sending two requests within thirty seconds. It expires when you close the browser and carries nothing about you. Nothing else on the site sets a cookie.
