Grown here, a third of itA cutting garden at Llanblethian grows a third of what goes into our bouquets from April to October: dahlias, sweet peas, cosmos, garden roses, foliage. The rest comes from Dutch and British growers we name on the seasons page.
Same-day across the Vale, by electric vanOrder by 1pm, Monday to Saturday, and it arrives that afternoon: £5 within five miles of Cowbridge, £8 across the Vale, free over £60. The delivery page lists every postcode and the cut-off for each.
A seasonal chart that tells the truthPeonies in May and June, not January. The chart on the seasons page shows what is in flower month by month, what we grow and what we buy, so a bouquet ordered for March is built from what March actually has.
Weddings, one a day, from £450Forty-eight a year, never two on the same day, from a bridal bouquet and buttonholes to a whole barn. The consultation is free and an hour, and the quote is itemised so you can take the pew ends off and keep the arch.

Flowers

Six things we do, each priced.

All six

01

Bouquets and arrangements

Hand-tied bouquets at £35, £55 and £85, built from what is freshest that morning in the shop and the garden, wrapped in paper and sent out in water. Choose a colour and a feel, or tell us the person and the occasion and leave it to us. Order by 1pm for same-day delivery across the Vale.

£35, £55 or £85 hand-tied, plus delivery (£5 local, £8 across the Vale, free over £60).

02

Weddings

From a bridal bouquet and six buttonholes to a barn with an arch, forty tables and the church: forty-eight weddings a year, never two on the same day, a free hour's consultation, a mood board and an itemised quote held for sixty days, and flowers grown for you in our own garden where the season allows.

From £450 for the bouquet, buttonholes and a table or two; a typical barn wedding £1,200 to £1,800; a full venue with arch, aisle and forty tables around £2,800.

03

Sympathy and funeral flowers

Flowers for a funeral or for someone grieving, done gently and without fuss: a loose spray or a posy for the coffin, a wreath, a sheaf for a cremation, something soft in a bowl for the house. We work with the funeral directors across the Vale and deliver to the chapel or the home on the morning, and we will take the order by phone if you would rather not write it down.

A bowl or posy for the house from £45; a coffin spray from £150; a wreath from £95; a sheaf from £65.

04

Events and weekly flowers

Flowers for a party, a dinner, a christening, a launch or a funeral tea, and the weekly contract flowers for the hotels, restaurants, offices and the dentist on the High Street who have a bunch on the desk every Monday. Quoted by the piece, delivered and collected, and built from what is in season.

Party and dinner flowers from £120; a weekly desk arrangement from £28 delivered; a restaurant's tables from £60 a week.

05

Subscriptions and gifts

A fortnightly or monthly bunch delivered for less than the shop price, paused with an email; gift vouchers for a bouquet or a workshop; and the shelves of the shop: Welsh pottery vases, dried flowers from the garden, seeds, candles and the cards we print ourselves.

Fortnightly £32 delivered (a £35 bunch), monthly £50 delivered (a £55 bunch).

06

Workshops

Two-hour workshops at the long table in the shop or, in summer, at the cutting garden: a Christmas wreath, a hand-tied bouquet, a spring bulb bowl, a dahlia afternoon in the garden. Six to eight people, tea and cake, everything provided, and you take home what you made. £48, dates on the booking page.

£48 for two hours, everything included.

Occasions

Birthdays, babies, sorry, and Tuesdays.

Birthdays

Any budget

Bright and generous, in their favourite colour if you know it and the best of the season if you do not. The £55 is the usual; the £35 is plenty for a desk. A card in your words and same-day across the Vale.

Anniversaries

The years

We keep a note of every wedding we have done, so if we did yours we can do the bouquet again, in season, for the anniversary. For everyone else, the £85 with a focal flower and a vase.

New baby

Soft and easy

Something soft, already in a vase so nobody has to find one, and nothing heavily scented for a house with a newborn. From £45, delivered to the house or the ward at Llandough.

How we work

Four things that are always true here.

Florist's choice means our best, not our leftovers

A "florist's choice" bouquet is built from what is freshest in the shop and the garden that morning, and it is the one we are proudest of. Tell us the colours you love or hate and the person it is for, and leave the rest.

Conditioned, wired, and told how to keep it

Every stem is cut, stripped and conditioned overnight before it goes into anything. Bouquets go out in water, with a card that says how to keep them, and a sympathy arrangement is built to last the week.

The quote is the price

Wedding quotes are itemised by the piece, held for sixty days, and do not change unless you change the list. Bouquet prices on the website are the prices in the shop. Delivery is on the delivery page, not a surprise at checkout.

Foam-free, Welsh where we can

No floral foam since 2019; chicken wire, moss and water instead. Welsh-grown first, British second, Dutch third, and we say which on the seasons page. Paper and twine, no cellophane.

  • 35%of what we sell, grown in our own garden
  • 48weddings a year, never two on one day

Weddings

One wedding a day, flowers grown for you, and a quote by the piece.

Forty-eight weddings a year and never two on the same Saturday, so the person who sat with you over tea builds the flowers and delivers them herself. The consultation is free and an hour; the quote is itemised, bouquet to bar, held for sixty days, so you can take the pew ends off and keep the arch. From spring to autumn we plant a row for you in the garden at Llanblethian.

  • From £450; a typical barn wedding £1,200 to £1,800
  • Mood board and quote within a week of the consultation
  • £150 holds the date; the diary shows which Saturdays are gone

Seasons

Peonies in May and June. Dahlias from August. Nothing flown in from the other hemisphere.

The seasons page is a chart of fourteen flowers across twelve months, updated from what is actually in the garden and with the growers we buy from, so you know before you ring that March is ranunculus and blossom, not peonies. A third of what we sell is grown a mile away; the rest is Welsh first, British second, Dutch third, and we say which.

Wedding

Megan grew our dahlias. Actual rows of them, in our colours, in her garden, for a September wedding in a barn at Llancarfan. The quote was by the piece and we took the pew ends off and kept the arch, exactly as she suggested. One wedding a day means she was there herself, at ten, with the bouquet.

Subscription

Fortnightly subscription for my wife for three years now, £32 a time, on a Thursday, in water, something different every fortnight because it follows the seasons. When we went to Spain for a month one email paused it. I have never once had to remember to order flowers, which is the point.

Sympathy

Dad's funeral. I rang at nine in the morning not knowing what a sheaf was, and Owen asked me three gentle questions, said a price, and the spray was at the funeral director's the next morning in Dad's garden colours with a photo sent to me the night before. Nobody tried to sell me anything.

Questions people ask before they ring

Can I get flowers delivered today?

Yes, across the Vale, if you order by 1pm Monday to Saturday (noon for Penarth, Dinas Powys and the Bridgend side). £5 within five miles of Cowbridge, £8 across the Vale, free over £60. The delivery page lists every postcode and its cut-off; ring and we will say honestly whether the van can make it.

What does a bouquet cost?

£35, £55 or £85 hand-tied, plus delivery, with the card included. The three sizes are the same idea, built from the best of that morning in the shop and the garden; tell us the colours and who it is for. Sympathy flowers from £45, weddings from £450, a fortnightly subscription £32.

Which flowers are in season now?

The seasons page is a chart of fourteen flowers across twelve months, updated each month from what is actually in flower in the garden and with the growers we buy from. If you want something that is out of season we will say so and show you what the month has instead.

How do wedding flowers work?

A free hour's consultation in the shop with tea and your photographs; a mood board and an itemised quote within a week, held for sixty days; a £150 deposit for the date; flowers grown for you in our garden where the season allows; and one wedding a day, so the person you met delivers and dresses it.

Do you use floral foam?

No, not since 2019: chicken wire, moss, pin holders and water instead, which is better for the flowers and the planet and no harder for us. We also use paper and twine rather than cellophane, and grow a third of our own stems.

Order by 1pm and it is there this afternoon.

A hand-tied from the best of the morning, a bowl for someone grieving, a bunch every fortnight, or an hour in the shop to talk about a wedding: ring, send the form, or come in. Same-day delivery across the Vale by electric van, £5 local, £8 across the Vale, free over £60.
