What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.
What we collect
When you use the survey form we collect your name, phone number, email address and postcode, what you are interested in, the kind of property, a day if given and anything you write. The form records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions. The kit builder stores nothing; your choices are in the page address and nowhere else.
As a customer we hold your address, the system design and codes, keyholder names and numbers you give us, service and fault records, and payments. Monitoring contracts add the alarm signals the monitoring centre receives and its call log.
Why we use it
- To survey, quote, fit and maintain your system (our contract with you).
- To run monitoring and call keyholders (contract, and the keyholders' agreement, which we ask you to obtain).
- To meet the requirements of the security standards and the police for monitored systems (legal obligation and legitimate interest).
- To keep accounting records (legal obligation).
CCTV you own
Cameras we fit for you record to your own recorder. You, not us, are responsible for that footage. We do not view it unless you ask us to for a fault, in your presence or with your written permission.
Who sees it
Our engineers and office, the monitoring centre for monitored systems, and South Wales Police for police-response systems when an alarm is confirmed. We never sell or share your details for marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted after six months. System records are kept while we maintain the system and for six years after, as the standards require; accounting records for six years.
