Services

Six things we fit and keep working.

All six, with prices

Burglar alarms

A wireless alarm fitted in a day without lifting a floorboard: control panel, keypad, external siren, motion sensors and door and window contacts, set from the keypad, a fob or your phone.

From £495 fitted for a panel, keypad, siren and two motion sensors.

CCTV

Four-megapixel cameras placed to catch a face at the door and a plate on the drive, a recorder that keeps thirty days, and an app on your phone. Pointed at your property, not your neighbour's.

From £630 fitted for two cameras with a recorder and the app; each further camera £185.

Video doorbells and smart locks

A wired video doorbell that does not need charging, a smart lock rated for insurance, and both on the same app as your alarm. Fitted properly, with the door checked first.

Video doorbell £149 fitted; we fit yours for £60.

Alarm monitoring

Three levels: you watch it on the app, a monitoring centre rings your keyholders, or a confirmed alarm is passed to the police. What each costs, what it needs, and when it is worth it.

Self-monitored on the app, no fee.

Access control

Fob and keypad entry for shops, offices, surgeries and units: staff in, everyone else buzzed in, a lost fob cancelled in a minute, and a log of who came and went.

A single door with fob reader, lock and exit button from £1,150 fitted.

Servicing and maintenance

An annual service for your alarm or cameras, fault visits the same working day, and takeovers of systems whose installer has retired or stopped answering.

Annual service £95; a first visit to take over another installer's system £120.

How we design

Doors and windows first, rooms second.

Most break-ins in the Vale come through a back door, a patio door or a ground-floor window at the back. So the design starts there: a contact on every way in that matters, so the alarm sounds as the door opens rather than when someone is already in the lounge, then motion sensors where anyone would have to walk.

  • A contact on every door and every reachable window you choose
  • Pet-tolerant sensors set for your dog's weight
  • Part-set at night: doors and downstairs armed, upstairs free
Count your doors and windows

How we work

Four things that are always true.

We design for the way in

Most burglars try the back door or a ground-floor window at the back. We cover the routes in first, then the rooms, and we say where a camera would only be for show.

An alarm you will set

If an alarm is a nuisance, people stop setting it. Pet-tolerant sensors, part-set for night, and an app, so it is set every time you leave.

The price on the quote

The written quote lists every device and the fitting. If we find we need less on the day, the price comes down. It never goes up.

Fault visits within the day

A fault on a system we maintain gets an engineer the same working day, usually within four hours, and a phone call straight away.

  • 1,650+systems fitted in the Vale since 2009
  • 17years on the Atlantic Trading Estate
  • 4 hrslongest wait for a fault visit last year

Burglar alarm

Gareth walked round the house and the back lane with me, showed me where someone would actually get in, and fitted the alarm the next week in about five hours. The dog has not set it off once.

CCTV

Two cameras rather than the six another firm quoted. The one at the door shows faces clearly at night, and they angled the drive camera so it does not look at next door. Thirty days of footage and no subscription.

Servicing

Our installer retired and the alarm had been bleeping for months. Watchtower took it over, reset the codes, replaced two batteries and it has been quiet since. Clear about cost before they started.

Directions and where we work

Questions people ask first

How much does a burglar alarm cost?

A wireless Grade 2 alarm with panel, keypad, siren and two motion sensors is £495 fitted; contacts are £35 a door and £30 a window. Most three-bedroom houses come to £600 to £750. The kit builder works it out for your house.

Is the survey really free?

Yes, with a written quote afterwards listing every device. There is no obligation and we do not sell on the doorstep.

How long does fitting take?

Half a day for a typical wireless alarm, a day with cameras, two days for larger houses or wired systems. You will have the date and the engineer's name when you accept the quote.

Do I have to pay monthly?

No. An alarm or cameras on the app cost nothing a month. Monitoring by a centre is optional: £14.50 a month for keyholders, £24.50 for police response.

Can you take over our old alarm?

Usually. A first visit is £120 to reset codes, test everything and replace batteries; after that, servicing is £95 a year.

Are you accredited?

On a live site this answer would give the NSI Gold certificate number and the police URN-issuing status. This is a demonstration site and the accreditation shown is a fictional placeholder.
