Insulated aluminium, electric as standard

Roller garage doors

Insulated aluminium roller doors that roll up into a box inside the opening, so they take no driveway or ceiling space. Electric with two remotes as standard.

A roller door is the answer when the drive is short, the garage ceiling is full, or you just want the whole opening back. It rolls straight up into a box at the top of the opening and needs no room in front or above.

Ours are double-skinned aluminium slats filled with insulating foam, in a range of colours and a wood-effect finish, running in guides fixed inside or behind the opening. Every roller door is electric, with a motor inside the barrel, two remotes and a manual override for power cuts, and a safety edge along the bottom that stops and reverses the door if it touches anything.

Roller doors suit openings from a narrow single to a wide double, and they are the best choice for garages used as workshops or gyms because they keep the ceiling clear. They are not the quietest door, and a sectional insulates a little better; we say so if warmth matters more than space.

Questions about roller doors

Can I have a manual roller door?

We fit them electric only, because a manual insulated roller door is heavy to lift and wears its springs quickly.

What happens in a power cut?

A manual override inside the garage lets you wind the door up. A battery backup is £145 if you want it to work as normal.

Will it fit my opening?

Almost always: the box needs about 300mm above the opening or inside it. We check at the survey.
