A motor for the door you already have
Electric conversions
Ceiling-mounted operators for up-and-over and sectional doors in good condition, with remotes, safety edge or photocells, and a force test before we leave.

If your door is sound, you do not need a new one to stop getting out of the car in the rain. A ceiling operator, a rail and two remotes will do it, fitted in a morning.
We start by checking the door: that it is balanced, that the springs and cables are sound, and that it runs freely by hand. An electric operator on a stiff or unbalanced door fails within a year and can be dangerous, so if the door needs work first, we say so and price it. Then we fit a ceiling-mounted operator with a belt or chain rail, two remotes, an internal wall button and a release so you can open it by hand in a power cut.
Every automated door is fitted with a safety edge or photocells and force-tested to the standard, so it stops and reverses if it meets a person, a car or a bike. We leave a record of the test. Extra remotes, keypads and phone control are available.

Questions about electric conversions
Can any door be motorised?
Most up-and-over and sectional doors in good condition can. Side-hinged doors and very worn doors are not good candidates; we tell you at the survey.
Can I open it from my phone?
Yes, with an add-on module for £95; set up on the day.
Is it safe with children around?
Fitted properly, yes: the safety edge or photocells stop and reverse the door, and we test the force before we leave.
