What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.
What we collect
When you use the survey form we collect your name, phone number, email address and postcode, what you are thinking of, how soon, a day if given and anything you write. The form records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions. The door chooser stores nothing; your choices are in the page address and nowhere else.
As a customer we hold your address, the garage measurements and photographs, the quote, the order, the guarantee, safety test records for electric doors, and payments.
Why we use it
- To survey, quote, order, fit and repair (our contract with you).
- To send measurements to the door manufacturer (measurements only).
- To keep safety test records for automated doors (legal obligation and legitimate interest).
- To keep accounting records (legal obligation).
Who sees it
Our surveyors and fitters, door manufacturers (measurements and colour only), and our accountant. We never sell or share your details for marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an order are deleted after six months. Orders, guarantees and safety records are kept for ten years, the length of the door guarantee.
Cookies
This site sets a single session cookie to limit repeat form submissions. It holds no personal data and expires when you close the browser. The map on the showroom page is served by Google, which may set its own cookies.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it (subject to what we must keep), or object to how we use it. Email hello@up-and-over-garage-doors.co.uk. We reply within a month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
