Signs to look for

What your door is telling you.

  • Suddenly very heavy, or a loud bang. A spring has broken. Leave it shut or open and ring.
  • Hanging lower on one side. A cable or spring has gone on that side.
  • Grinding or squealing. Dry or worn wheels and pivots; a service usually cures it.
  • An electric door reversing for no reason. Dirty photocells, a misaligned sensor or a door out of balance.

Questions about repairs

Is it dangerous to use a door with a broken spring?

Yes. The spring is what holds the door's weight; without it the door can drop. Leave it and ring us.

Do you repair roller and sectional doors?

Yes, most makes, including their motors and remotes.

Should I have the door serviced?

A yearly service for £69 lubricates, rebalances and safety-tests the door, and usually catches a tired spring before it breaks.
