Rhian measures and quotes, Lewis leads the fitting, and between them four fitters who have worked here for years. Whoever measures your house can tell you the name of whoever will fit it.
Owner. The shop, the home measures and every quote
Rhian started on the shop floor at a carpet warehouse in Waterton in 1991, opened Underfoot on Nolton Street with her late father in 1998, and still does most of the home measures herself. She can tell a wool from a polypropylene with her eyes shut, and she will tell you if the cheaper one is the better buy.
Lead fitter. The fitting team, the stairs and the call-backs
Lewis came to Underfoot as an apprentice at seventeen and has fitted something like six thousand rooms since. He leads the four fitters, does the herringbone and the winding stairs himself, and does the measures on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
The fitters

The carpet team: stairs, landings and whole houses in a day, and the first ones to say if a door will need trimming.
Hard floors: LVT, laminate and oak. Levels the floor before anything goes down, and does not rush the adhesive.
In the shop and on the phone: the diary, the deliveries, the remnants, and the call the day before to say who is coming and when.
After the fit
A seam that lifts, a door bar that works loose, a board that clicks: ring or text a photograph, and someone comes back within the week at no charge for two years. The flooring itself carries its maker's guarantee, and we make that call for you.
