Three people at most on fixed slots, each on their own programme, £28 a session or £195 a month for two a week
Semi-private coaching
Three people at most in the room with one coach, each working their own programme from their own assessment, on fixed morning, lunchtime and evening slots. The attention of one-to-one at less than half the price, with the company of two people who are also fifty-something and also learning to deadlift.

Semi-private is not a class. Each of the three people in the room has had the assessment and has their own programme; the coach moves between them, loading one bar while another person rests. It works because strength training is mostly resting between sets, and because three people who turn up at 7am on a Wednesday for a year become something like a team.
Slots are fixed: Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7, 12:30 and 6, and Saturday at 9. You pick two and keep them, and the same three people are in the room each week. The programme is yours, from your assessment, with your lifts and your weights; what is shared is the coach and the hour. Reviews at six and twelve weeks are one-to-one, twenty minutes, before a session.
£28 a session or £195 a month for two a week, which is what most people do. A slot that drops to two people runs as normal at the same price; one that would be four is not offered. If you miss a slot with 24 hours' notice we find you another that week where there is space.

What it costs
£28 a session, or £195 a month for two sessions a week. The assessment (£60) first, as for everyone. Slots Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7am, 12:30pm and 6pm, and Saturday at 9am. The programmes page has every price side by side; the assessment page says what the first ninety minutes involve.
Questions about semi-private
Will I be held back by the others, or hold them back?
Neither: everyone is on their own programme with their own bar. The only thing you share is the coach, who is loading one bar while you rest.
Can I move from semi-private to one-to-one?
At any point, and the other way. People often start one-to-one for the first twelve weeks and move to semi-private once the lifts are learned.
Start with the assessment. Ninety minutes, and an honest answer.
Your story, the letters, how you move under a light bar, four baseline measures in a book you keep, and ten minutes on what it will take and whether we are the right people. £60, credited against a programme, and refunded if we say we are not.
