I had a bad back for twenty years and a GP who said "core strength" and nothing else. Mari watched me move for an hour before I touched a bar. Twelve weeks later I deadlift sixty-five kilos and I pick up my grandchildren. The numbers book is the most motivating thing I have ever owned.

A bone scan at sixty-six sent me here. Three of us on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday at seven, each with our own bar, Ioan loading one while the others rest. The follow-up scan was better and I have made two friends. £195 a month.
My physio discharged me and I was terrified of the shoulder. Mari rang the physio before we started, sent her the reviews, and twelve weeks later I press a dumbbell overhead and swim. The physio said it was the first time a trainer had ever contacted her.
Seventy-four, could not get up off the floor without a chair, and did not want to be the man who cannot carry his own case. One session a week with Ioan for six months. I can do both now. Nobody rushed me and nobody played loud music.
The training changed my sleep, my mood and my deadlift, and the nutrition conversations were sensible and small. Four stars because the only 6pm slot is Monday, Wednesday and Friday and I cannot always make it, and the lane parking is two spaces for a reason. The coaching itself is the best I have had.
Eight months after a new knee and still limping on stairs. Mari got the surgeon's notes, started me on a high box with no weight, and by week twelve I was squatting forty kilos and had walked the coast path. The surgeon has asked for the programme.
About the four stars
The 6pm slots were three days a week. There are now five, and a Tuesday evening one-to-one.
Catrin was right that a room with one rack has a hard limit on evenings, and that the lane parking is two spaces and not three. Semi-private now runs at 6pm Monday to Friday, with Ioan taking the Tuesday and Thursday; and one-to-one has a 7pm on Tuesday that did not exist. We cannot make the lane wider, so the Glebe Street car park is now two hours free with a code we give you at the assessment.
