What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.

What we collect

When you use the register form we collect your name, phone number, email address and postcode, what you are after, when, a date if you give one, and anything you write. If you register for work we also hold your CV, employment history, references, proof of your right to work, and licences and certificates. For care and some other jobs we hold a record of DBS checks, with your knowledge, and pay and bank details if you work for us as a temp. The form also records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions.

Why we use it

  • To find you work or find you staff, with your knowledge (our contract, and a legitimate interest).
  • To check right to work and keep records under the agency conduct rules (a legal obligation).
  • To pay temps, with holiday pay and pension (our contract, and a legal obligation).
  • We send your CV to an employer only after telling you which one.

Criminal records and health

DBS outcomes and any health information are special and sensitive categories. We hold only what the job legally needs, restrict who can see it and do not pass it on without telling you.

How long we keep it

Candidate records with no work placed are deleted after two years without contact. Agency records are kept for at least one year after we last supplied a worker, as the conduct rules require, and payroll records for six years. Right-to-work records are kept for two years after employment ends.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our using it or withdraw consent. Email hello@the-right-hire.co.uk. We answer within a month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This website sets a session cookie only when you send the register form, to limit repeat submissions. The job search and the fee calculator run on the server and store nothing. There are no analytics or advertising cookies. The map on the find-us page is loaded from Google, which may set its own cookies.
