When your mind will not stop
Sleep
For people lying awake with busy minds. We work alongside the sleep habits with the best evidence, and tell you which those are.

The treatment with the best evidence for long-term insomnia is cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia, known as CBT-I. You can ask your GP about it. Hypnotherapy has much less research behind it, and some of that is mixed.
Where we can help is the bit that happens between lying down and dropping off. We use relaxation and imagery that many people find pleasant and useful, and a recording you can have by the bed. We also go through the dull, effective things: getting up at the same time, not lying awake for hours in bed, and when to stop the coffee.
If you snore heavily and wake unrefreshed, or stop breathing in your sleep, or your legs will not settle, please see your GP. These can be medical and treatable.

Questions about sleep
Will I fall asleep in the chair?
Sometimes people do. It is not a problem, though we will wake you when we are finished.
I take sleeping tablets. Is that a problem?
No. Carry on, and talk to your doctor if you want to reduce them. We will not advise you on tablets.
Start with ten minutes on the phone.
Free, and no obligation. We ask what you are hoping for and tell you honestly whether we think we are the right people, or whether you should see someone else.
