Speeches, interviews, exams

Confidence

Preparing for the thing you have to stand up and do. Calming your body, rehearsing it going well, and saying what you meant to say.

People come because of a wedding speech, an interview, a driving test, a first Welsh-language interview on the radio. Athletes and musicians have rehearsed in their heads for years, and that is a lot of what we do.

We start with exactly what happens to you: dry mouth, shaking hands, blank mind. You learn a short way to settle in the minute before it starts. Then, relaxed, you rehearse the event going reasonably well, and also going a bit wrong, and carrying on.

We do not try to make you into someone else. If low confidence has settled over your whole life, or comes with low mood, it is worth talking to your GP as well, as counselling may suit you better.

What is included

  • A session built around your date and your event
  • A one-minute settling routine
  • A recording for the night before
  • A short call after, if you would like one

What it costs

Confidence work is usually two or three sessions: £90 for the first and £65 for each after, so £155 to £220 in all. There is no block booking. Most people have between two and six sessions, and we review at the third. The is it for me? page works it out by subject.

Questions about confidence

Can this help with my driving test?

We see plenty of people for that, and it can help with the nerves. You will still need to know how to reverse round a corner.

Will I lose my edge?

No. A bit of adrenaline is useful, and we are not trying to remove it.

Start with ten minutes on the phone.

Free, and no obligation. We ask what you are hoping for and tell you honestly whether we think we are the right people, or whether you should see someone else.
