Styles
One panel from sill to top, with a hidden divider rail so the top and bottom louvres tilt separately. The most popular choice for bays.
Top and bottom panels open independently, so you can fold back the top for light and keep the bottom closed for privacy. Ideal for street-facing rooms.
Covers only the lower part of the window. Privacy at street level, full light above. Simple, and the least expensive.
No louvres: a solid shutter for total blackout in bedrooms and nurseries, often combined with louvred panels above.
Panels that slide or bifold along a track across patio and French doors, and fold right back when you want the doors open.
Arches, circles and angled tops for gable and stair windows, made from a template we take on site.

A typical three-window Penarth bay of about five square metres comes to £1,600 in MDF and £1,900 in hardwood, frames and fitting included. The pricer gives a guide for a single window.

Fitting day
Owain fits a frame inside the recess or on the wall, packs it true even where the plaster is not, then hangs the panels and adjusts every hinge so they close with an even gap. A three-window bay takes about four hours. Dust sheets go down first and the old blinds go in the van.
On a door you use all day, where a shutter panel would be in the way; on a window with a radiator right under it and no recess; and where the budget would be better spent on blinds throughout the house. We say so at the visit.
Yes, any colour in MDF or hardwood, matched to a paint sample you give us. Stained finishes are hardwood only.
Yes. The frame sits inside the recess clear of the sashes, so they still open, and the panels fold back when you want to.
Hannah brings the fabrics, slats and shutter samples to your windows, measures every one, and leaves a written quote. No obligation, and the measured price is the one you pay.
