Fabric blinds for kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and bays
Roller and roman blinds
Roller blinds in blackout, dim-out and light-filtering fabrics, and lined roman blinds that fold softly up the window. Made to the millimetre for your recess or to sit outside it.

A roller blind is the plainest, cheapest and most practical way to control light. A roman blind does the same job with a fold of fabric that makes a room feel finished. Most houses end up with both.
We carry around four hundred roller fabrics, from blackout for children's bedrooms and the bedrooms of people who work nights, to light-filtering linens for kitchens and moisture-resistant PVC for bathrooms. Each is cut to your window and fitted on a chain with a child-safe tensioner, a spring for a clean look, or a motor. Inside a recess we take three widths and use the smallest; outside one we add enough overlap to stop the light leaking round the edges.
Roman blinds are made for us by a workroom in Bridgend from fabrics you choose in the showroom or bring yourself, lined as standard and blackout-lined if you ask. They take three weeks to make. Bay windows get a blind to each window with the fabric pattern matched across the bay, and we will say honestly when a curtain would suit a bay better.

Questions about roller and roman blinds
Inside or outside the recess?
Inside looks neater and shows off the window; outside blocks more light and suits shallow recesses or wonky plaster. We look at the window and suggest one, with the reason.
Can I use my own fabric?
Yes for roman blinds: bring us about a metre and a half more than we estimate, and the making charge is the same. Roller blinds need fabric made for rollers.
Are they safe with children?
Every corded blind we fit has a breakaway chain and a tensioner fixed to the wall, as the British standard requires. For children's rooms we often suggest a spring or motorised roller with no cord at all.
