Roof and side blinds so the room is usable in July

Conservatory blinds

Pleated roof blinds that cut the heat and glare, matching side blinds, and reflective fabrics for south-facing glass. Every roof panel measured separately.

A south-facing conservatory without blinds is too hot from May to September and too bright for a screen all year. The roof matters more than the sides: that is where most of the heat comes in.

Every roof panel is a slightly different shape, so we measure each one separately and make a pleated blind for it, tensioned on side wires so it lies flat and moves smoothly. The fabric has a reflective backing that turns back a large share of the sun's heat before it reaches the room. Side windows get pleated or roller blinds in the same fabric, and doors get blinds that clip to the frame so they do not swing.

We fit in a day for most conservatories and take care on the roof: everything is done from inside on proper steps, with dust sheets down. For roofs with high apexes we can motorise the roof blinds so nobody has to climb to open them in the morning.

What it includes

Questions about conservatory blinds

Will blinds really make it cooler?

Noticeably, with reflective roof blinds: customers tell us the room becomes usable on summer afternoons. They cannot make an uninsulated glass roof as cool as a solid one.

Can you do a lean-to or an orangery?

Yes. Lean-tos are simple; orangery lanterns are measured panel by panel like a conservatory roof.

How do I clean them?

Pleated fabrics are dust-repellent; a soft brush or a hand vacuum on low twice a year is enough.
