What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.
What we collect
When you use the home visit form we collect your name, phone number, email address and postcode, what you are interested in, roughly how many windows, a preferred day and anything you write. The form records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions. The pricer stores nothing; your sizes are in the page address and nowhere else.
As a customer we hold your address, window measurements and photographs we take of the windows, your quote, order and payments.
Why we use it
- To visit, measure, quote, make and fit (our contract with you).
- To send your measurements to our workroom in Bridgend, which makes roman blinds and curtains (a processor working for us).
- To honour the guarantee (contract).
- To keep accounting records (legal obligation).
Who sees it
Hannah and Owain, our workroom and blind manufacturers (measurements only, no contact details), and our accountant. We never sell or share your details for marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an order are deleted after six months. Orders and measurements are kept for six years, which also covers the five-year guarantee.
Cookies
This site sets a single session cookie to limit repeat form submissions. It holds no personal data and expires when you close the browser. The map on the find-us page is served by Google, which may set its own cookies.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it (subject to what we must keep), or object to how we use it. Email hello@slat-and-shade.co.uk. We reply within a month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
