Motorised blinds
Roller, roman and vertical blinds on quiet motors, battery or mains, on a wall switch, a remote, a phone app or a sunrise timer. Good for high windows, wide windows and rooms with children.
Motorised blinds sound like a luxury until you have a window over a staircase, a skylight, a five-metre glass wall or a toddler. Then they are the obvious answer.
We fit rechargeable battery motors where there is no power near the window, recharged with a small cable every six months or so, and mains motors where we can run a supply, which an electrician arranges before we fit. Every motor comes with a remote, can be added to a wall switch, and works with a phone app and the common smart home systems if you want it to. Timers lower the bedroom blinds at dusk and raise them at seven without anyone touching anything.
Motorised blinds have no cords or chains at all, which makes them the safest choice in children's rooms. They are also quieter than people expect: our standard roller motor is about as loud as a fridge. We set the top and bottom limits on the day and show you how to change them.

What it costs

Questions about motorised blinds
Battery or mains?
Battery if there is no socket or supply near the window: no electrician, a recharge every six months. Mains if a supply can be run, usually during decorating, and then you never think about it again.
Do they work with Alexa or Google?
Yes, through the motor's own hub. We set up the hub and the first routine, and show you how to add more.
Can you motorise my existing blinds?
Sometimes, if the roller tube takes a motor. Usually it is cheaper and more reliable to make a new blind with the motor built in.
