Appliances

Appliances are where kitchen companies usually make their margin, and we would rather not. We buy at trade price from three brands we have fitted for years and know the engineers for, and sell at fifteen per cent under the price on the high street, which we print on the quote next to the retail price so you can check. If you would rather buy your own, we will fit those too, and Carys will tell you the dimensions to look for.

Integrated is the rule for a fitted kitchen: the fridge, the freezer and the dishwasher behind doors that match the rest, on hinges that carry the door with the appliance. Ovens go at eye height in a tall unit if the room allows, because you will never bend to a low oven again once you have had one at eye level. Induction is what most people choose now, and we fit the circuit for it.

Extractors are where most kitchens fall down: a recirculating hood over an induction hob is quiet but does little for steam. If an outside wall is near, we duct to it and make good; if not, we fit a hob with a built-in down-draft. The appliances are registered in your name on the day, and the manufacturer's warranty is yours; we handle the call if something fails in the first year.

What it costs

Fifteen per cent under the retail price on every appliance we supply, fitted free with the kitchen. A good built-in single oven, induction hob, integrated fridge-freezer and dishwasher is usually about £2,600 fitted. Including VAT.
